What Is The Squatch?
The Neighborhood Squatch application is a community-safety platform created to connect Squatch members, community volunteers, security firms, and their licensed agents. Our goal is to provide a seamless communication network that is ready-made to support communities. Within our training and ethical guidelines, our partners will be free to make decisions, set their own schedules, and immediately begin making a positive difference in their communities. We believe that promoting safety and respecting human dignity are not opposing concepts.
Hiring a brick and mortar security company to protect your home or small business hasn’t been accessible to most households. We see the current lack of community well-being as a simple coordination problem, and we have set out to solve it by seamlessly connecting neighbors, volunteers, and licensed security professionals. By utilizing our app technology, we can drastically increase the accessibility of community safety solutions to those who need them most.
The greatest change happens with the simplest of ideas. We believe this to be one of those ideas. When confronted by it, most people react by wondering how it does not already exist. People are searching for purpose and opportunity to make a lasting difference in the world. We aim to bring the focus back to our own communities. With some meaningful changes, the technology that has left so many people feeling isolated and neighborless can be turned into a tool to promote unity.

My name’s Christopher Peters, founder and CEO of The Neighborhood Squatch. I’ve been blessed to have a pretty comfortable life. Yet, as Portland struggled over the past few years, I felt a growing anxiety, not knowing if my home and family were safe. I know a lot of my neighbors felt the same way.
I started the Squatch in order to bring first-class Private Security solutions in reach of the average Portland family. When you choose the Squatch, you make a powerful choice, taking back control over your family’s security, independent of the political whims of the moment.
